In a recent performance of contact improvisation in Luxembourg, we engaged in a completely improvised show without a scripted routine. Drawing on the principles of contact improvisation such as sharing weight, lifting, sliding, and counterbalance, the performance aimed to demonstrate how two individuals can engage in a dialogue using only their bodies. This experimental piece sought to convey a message about life – emphasizing the importance of listening to one another while also expressing individual ideas. We aimed to showcase that by truly listening to the other person, something truly beautiful and harmonious can be created on stage.
